We are pleased to offer our CalWomenTech colleges the chance to take Sheryl Sorby’s Spatial Reasoning Workshop, which will be offered as a part of the Winter 2009 Information and Communication Technologies Educator Conference on January 8-9, 2009 in San Francisco at CCSF.
The workshop will give you the opportunity to learn and benefit from Sheryl Sorby, an expert in the field who has done studies on spatial reasoning and has positively impacted student outcomes.
The workshop will be held on January 9th from 9am to 4pm, with a 1 hour break for lunch.
- Section 1: Sheryl Sorby will discuss her study findings and talk about changes in student’s outcomes and results that have been seen as a result of the 3D Spatial Visualization class.
- Section 2: Sheryl will discuss the importance of spatial reasoning and the applications of spatial reasoning in various technological fields.
- Section 3: Sheryl will lead the class through hands-on modules, working in isometrics and rotation.
- Section 4: Jean Mecorney, Program Coordinator and Professor of Multimedia Art and Technology at Cañada College, will also be there to share her experiences teaching an online spatial reasoning class this semester.
